Fun for camping and nighttime activities

By Kathy Habel
This is a small popup camping lantern that would be great for a young child. It requires 3 AA batteries which are not included. There are three setting – bright, dim and strobe. When popped up this works as a lantern but when collapsed is works like a flashlight. Fun novelty type camping item. Sample received in exchange for an honest review.

Handy little tool!

This is such a cute little tool! I purchased this for an upcoming backpacking trip to Peru. It is NOT my primary flashlight. I have an Energizer headlamp for walking around and accomplishing tasks. The product is fairly light, but not lighter than I expected. It is light enough that I’m not terribly concerned about taking it on a 4-day hike. The quality of the materials appears excellent.

Great flashlight!

This is a fantastic ‘flashlight.’ Here is what I like about it:

Hockey puck flashlight

By Priscilla Ellington
Bright light via lantern and flashlight (on bottom). This one accepts double AA batteries (3). The handle is small, so this may be a fun light for a child or someone with smaller hands. Would work well for a power outage in the home, or just a fun night in the couch fort. The white material is like a fabric (not flimsy, but likely not waterproof). It collapses and turns into what would be the size of a large hockey puck.

this is nice to have for an emergency

Wow, this is nice to have for an emergency, like blackout! I would recommended on buying this item. Well worth for the money! Very compact, and only required 3 AA batteries, the lighting is great. 3 different mode, plus you can hang it. This is the lowest price I’ve seen and you get two. Wow, don’t miss this deal, will run out fast!

Cute little light, very functional design, a little delicate as it dropped once and took me about 10 minutes to put it back together but I guess that would probably happen with any light even so the spring made it a little more difficult to repair but for the money I would still buy again.

Useful and fun novelty lantern/flashlight.

By SInohey
This is a novelty item, and as such it is great. It is two light sources in one; when collapsed it can function as a powerful flashlight, and when unfolded and extended it is a bright lantern. Powered by 3 AA batteries (not included) located in the top compartment (to open, twist anticlockwise). A black button on the side of the orange rim controls the light ON/OFF, bright, very bright and flashing.

Not bright enough to be of any use. I wanted something to illuminate our campsites at dinner time, but you can barely see your plate even when you’re a foot away from it. It’s okay for use inside of a tent, and the hanger is handy. The folding feature works well. The flashlight mode is equally dim, my LED keychain is actually brighter.

Very Handy Lantern/Flashlight

By Matt Morgan
I remember my father using a camp lantern on a trip to the mountains one time when I was young. It required a liquid fuel and it had a mesh wick that eventually disintegrated and needed to be replaced. That was a long time ago. Many lanterns now are much different. This one is a pop-up lantern with batteries for its fuel cells and it works very well, not just as lantern but also as an emergency flashlight when help properly.
