Looks good so far
Well made and appears durable. The problem with any review of a product that may or may not last with frequent use whether it is rope, a tool or electronic item is that its true durability is unknown until years after the purchase.
I just recently purchased a Glacier Bay 2680, and as with most boats, they don’t come with any of the bumpers or dock lines. So, I went on the search for a good dock line that was not going to break the bank. I started my search at West Marine, and as I expected, you couldn’t touch a dock line for under $30-120 depending on the size. My last boat I shelled out the money for the ones at West Marine, but did not want to spend that much again. I was very surprised when I received these that they were made of exact same quality as the much more expensive ones I had purchased for my last boat. I have now used them several times, and they are still in perfect condition, I mainly uses these ones for my bumpers, but also use one of these as a back up to my two larger lines when I tie up, since my boat is roughly 8,000 lbs. I would defiantly recommend these over the more expensive ones that large stores sell. Same quality for half of the price!
Very Nice Ropes
Just received these so can’t comment on long term durability yet but these ropes appear to be high quality. They are very supple and soft so they are easy to work with and easy on the hands. And the 1/2 inch diameter makes them easy to grip.
We needed a longer docking rope for our boat. This was perfect. High quality. Pre-looped. And much less expensive than what was available at the marina store.
Good quality but diameter runs large
Lines are of good quality, but the diameter is a bit larger than advertised. The 1/2″ diameter was 5/8″ which is too big for my application. I could only get a couple of wraps on my cleat. Unfortunately I didn’t field test them until the return period was expired, but that is my fault. I ordered the 3/8″ lines and they are true to size, so they are a bit smaller than I wanted, but that is preferable.
Best lines i have ever used
I know dock lines. Had a couple really crumby ones. These are best ones i have ever encountered. I use the 1/2 inch to tie up my boat and i know my boat will still be right at the pier where i left it in any storm. I always wrap my loose ends with silicone tape so i have zero worries about anything unraveling even if the ends look good and tight like these did.
Works as advertised
Highly recommended. The price is great for the quality and length, the lines are holding up well to a year’s worth of salt, sunlight, and storms (to include a hurricane). Due to my improper placement (and lack of a chafe guard), a line chafed approximately half way through during a big storm, but the remainder of the line held the load as needed. I’ll certainly buy more of these when my lines wear out.
I have a 20ft bow rider and this rope is perfect for it. It’s big enough to feel comfortable in your hand and it has got a soft comfortable feel. It is well made and very sturdy.
SeaSense Double Braid Nylon Dock Line
I did not use this as a dock line, but rather as a lead rope for my horse. The built-in loop was perfect for my application & fits well in the hand.
Nice quality rope
Bought two for my 21ft boat and they are great. I went with the 1/2 inch and it was almost too thick, but bigger’s better right?
