No more blisters on your finger, no more blister on your thumb (Dire Straits)

After a 72 mile kayak race, barehanded, I decided I needed some paddling gloves. Actually, during the race I used some thick neoprene gloves that I had on hand – for about 15 minutes – trying to keep a good grip on the paddle with those thick gloves was very tiring, so off they came. After the race I knew I needed some protection from blisters but I also knew I wanted gloves that were thin and light enough to give a good feel for the paddle without requiring a tight grip.

Very Comfortable

These gloves are great. I haven’t been kayaking all that long, so I don’t have the most refined stroke yet, which would often mean blisters at the end of a trip. I picked these up in the hopes that they would help prevent blisters, and they did that and more. My elbows and shoulders now feel better at the end of a trip too, perhaps because I’m not holding onto the paddle as tightly or repositioning it constantly to avoid the blisters. At any rate, they’re very comfortable and fit well. I still have a little trouble getting them on and off quickly, but that’s an experience issue, not the fault of the gloves. I may have to buy a second pair.

function well, little friction

the first time i tried white water kayaking, it was suggested i purchase a pair of bike gloves. bad advice. buy a specialty glove designed for kayaking. I bought a pair of these and a different brand (sorry can’t remember.) both gloves outperformed the expensive bike gloves by far. this pair was slightly preferable to the other kayaking glove i purchased. this glove was preferable because of the smooth palm; the water and glove actually improved the paddle’s function. much smoother, very little friction.

Great for Kayaking

I bought these to wear when kayaking with my husband. It provides some padding, (I have a tendency to get a blister on my inner thumb after ) without making my hands too warm. I would normally wear a medium glove size, but since I wanted these to be snug I bought a small. I was worried that they might be too small/uncomfortable, but they fit perfectly! If you are trying to decide between 2 sizes, I would recommend getting the smaller of two.
