DRIFTer offers the most comfortable fit available in a low profile zip front athletic sports vest. The WRAPTURE body-wrapping ergonomically shaped torso, and cross-chest cinch harness eliminate ride-up and fit the vest lower on the torso for full mobility, more effective buoyancy and additional comfort, especially once you're in the water. Short, lower back will not hinder movement or rub against seat backs. Rugged Cordura® shell provides years of enjoyment. • Two bellowed zippered pockets for easy accessibility & storage • Built-in fleece lined hand warmer pocket • Webbing hang loop for drying & storage • Ventilated shoulder and lumbar pads • Hand beveled foam for a closer more comfortable fit • Cross-chest Cinch harness eliminated ride-up • Extra wide armholes for maximum mobility • Key clip inside front pocket • 1" webbing belt, with forward pulls for a trim and secure fit • #10 YKK front zip entry • 4-way accessory lash tabs located on check and back shoulder • 3M reflective trim on both front and back shoulder • Adjustable shoulder straps • Model #5701 USCG 160.064/4127/0
Great Life Jacket for Sailing
I sail a Laser and Laser Bahia in this Life Jacket almost every weekend. I do this in a tropical environment so I haven’t needed the hand warming pockets. I wear a rash guard under it and it has been very comfortable this way. It is short enough on my torso that I can effectively hike out or lean into the boat without the jacket interfering. I’m 6 feet tall and weigh about 160 pounds. The straps provide plenty of adjustment and the jacket hugs my body. I like a nice snug fit in a life jacket. I’ve capsized many times in this jacket and it floats me quite comfortably. I also feel comfortable wearing it for long periods – I typically sail 5 to 6 hours at a time and I don’t feel in a rush to take it off at the end of the day. I will note that I whitewater raft and therefore am accustomed to having a lifejacket on all day (different one for that sport). The pockets are great. I keep a whistle in one and a rigging knife in the other. Easy to access and the zippers stay closed. I have a small point and shoot camera that easily fits in the pocket. The grey pocket has an elastic loop in it to attach something to. I’m very satisfied with it and would definitely buy it again.
Most comfortable LifeJacket I’ve had
I went to all the Kayak and sailing boating stores and tried on so many life jackets. This was the most comfortable jacket and it’s been great! Well made too
Excellent PFD. The quality and fit is excellent
Excellent PFD. The quality and fit is excellent. The breast pocket zippers are strong and easy to open. One pocket has a keeper to clip items to. This is nice for my phone in a waterproof case with a a cord attached. The two side pockets are softly lined and great to warm up hands. The buckles and straps are well made and easy to operate. I am 6’1″ 160lbs and the small/medium fits perfectly with room to spare. Would definitely recommend.
High quality, great fit and great price
I had an opportunity to try one on locally before I bought one through Amazon for less money than the local retailer, but they run a little small. I bought one size larger than I normally buy and it fit perfectly. Recommend you do the same with one size larger – it will be more comfortable.
great fit. great color
we had an old one of these for years. great fit. great color. comfortable. easy to paddle. haven’t’ tested it for buoyancy yet 🙂 we are in Alaska so let’s hope I don’t ever need to!
and has lots of useful and perfectly place pockets
I wear constantly while kayak touring. It fits well, and has lots of useful and perfectly place pockets. Confident it will serve the purpose if need should arise.
Great PFD for Kayaks
Rides high up on back so not to interfere with seat back. Comfortable for long trips. Only complaint is strap adjustment isn’t always easy and front pockets are pretty tight.
works great for paddeling, hardly know its there. with all the adjustment, you can get it to fit any body style.
