Great, well performing all around shoe. Its all about fit of course. For my foot, normally 10.5 street/running, and a little wider than D in the forefoot, with fairly high arch, I got the best fit of any in these – I did not size down, went with 10.5 M. Perfect fit – end of the toes just barely touch, width is snug enough for no slop on edges without having to crank them down like tourniquets. Can wear ’em for hours without a thought – and they smear, edge, and jam just great. Construction seems solid after several months regular (several times per week) use. My other favorite shoes are TC Pros – have to size those down a half, because they do stretch a bit. The Astromans don’t seem to break in as big and have stayed about the same as out of the box. Try ’em on, you may really dig them.
Good trad shoes. Just a warning, fits about 1 size smaller. I usually wear 8.5 men’s with evolv but had to return and get a 9.5.
I wear size 11 running shoe and these fit well enough to climb hardish (5.10) with now problem.
When first purchasing the shoes I read some reviews on them for quality, durability, performance, and fit. Overall they seemed like a pretty nice shoe.
The Astroman is my absolute go-to shoe for any type of crack, trad, or all day kind of route. I’ve been climbing a lot of years and I’ve gone through a lot of shoes. The Astroman finally links everything I need into “that” shoe. Granted, my feet fit in evolv shoes really well. I had tried the TC Pros from Sportiva, and a few pairs of shoes from 5.10, but the TCs were too asymmetrical and didn’t fit quite right. The 5.10s have never really fit my feet well. Even the mocs just didn’t work and I need something with a little more stiffness.
Well made shoes with excellent craftsmenship, just a little short in the length. Good support. Soles are sticky with nice edges.
