Overpriced beginner shoe. Be sure and try any brand of rock climbing shoe on somewhere before ordering.

By The Count
Overpriced for a beginner shoe but relatively comfortable and well made. Much too small and narrow for wider men’s feet. My normal shoe size is about 10 (European 42-43) but with these (and also other brands of climbing shoes) I had to go with 11.5. It’s almost that they size these for ballerina shaped feet! And the problem is not just with Evolve.

This is my second pair of Evolv climbing shoes. I have had success in ordering these in the US size number I would wear in women’s athletic shoes (though these are definitely men’s, as advertised). The shoes hold up well.

Great all around shoe at a good price

By Tiffany Kerr
I’ve only had them on the wall 3-4 times, but I’m quite happy with them. Probably the best bang for you buck for a normal climbing shoe. Pretty comfy as climbing shoes go, though I usually take them off between top/lead rope climbs. Great support for standing on small ledges, good grip for smearing. Good all around shoe for a good price.

The most comfortable all-around climbing shoe

By JohnB
Very comfy shoe, and I’ve hated the other shoes I’ve tried. I can keep these on for an hour while climbing and I’m all good. My feet typically will get very sore quickly, and these shoes help fight that fatigue.

They are comfortable and the performance is okay

By Eden
I bought these as a back up (comfy) pair. They are comfortable and the performance is okay, but Sweet zombie Jesus do these thing smell. they just hold all the funk in the lining and when you take them off, people in the gym will notice. This is apparently pretty common with the Defy Google it.

Poor quality. Let down.

By Lito Sibulo
I was very excited to receive my Evolv Defy VTR climbing shoes today only to be let down. While trying the shoes on, I found one of the Velcro on the right shoe was worn out. It looks and feels like its burnt and doesn’t latch on. You can clearly notice the part of the Velcro where it doesn’t catch. Very disappointed!

A good entry level shoe

By R.S.
A good entry level shoe. I wear it indoors for bouldering. I had to return this pair and order another, as the stitching that secures the velcro straps unraveled after 6 sessions. I like the shoes enough to get the same pair, hopefully it will not occur again.

Great shoes, Great fit

This shoes is great for beginners. and I love it so far.

Good shoe, Incomplete order.

By Amazon Customer
Good shoes, my local gym uses these as rentals. I got the same size I usually wear but they’re a little tight. I’m sure they’ll stretch out over time though.

Really enjoy these shoes and hope that they loosen up a bit as I break them in. Professional climber, Alex Johnson, told me that these are good shoes for learning footwork and to making great gains in climbing.
