The Evolv Demorto is hands down the best Symmetrical toe profile performance shoe on the market. Evolv created the Demorto based on the requests from climbers who desired a symmetrical toe profile high performance shoe but were frustrated that almost all of the symmetrical shoes currently available were entry level shoes. Anyone with Morton?s foot (longer 2nd toe) or climbers who prefer a more symmetrical toe box will love this shoe. The molded TRAX XT-5 outsole was engineered to have variable thickness gradients of the sole to conform to the foot and provide perfect anatomical support and sensitivity where needed. The molded sole is thinner in the arch section for better arch fit and ridged and thicker in the heel section for mild cushioning and the full length midsole underneath enhances edging power.UPPER: Synthetic (non-stretch Synthetic upper).LINING: Microfiber (balance of comfort and performance).MIDSOLE: MX-P 2mm stiff full-length midsole..

I have a extended pointer toe that goes out further than my big toe (morton’s toe). That is a huge issue when finding climbing shoes. I use to wear Scarpa Electro’s because of the design of the toe box, use to. This shoe is designed for weird footed people like us.
I had the previous version of the demorto and found it fantastic. Fit well, and easily accommodated my morton’s middle toe. Unfortunately, the new shoe does not feet as well and hurts a lot more than the previous show. It does however fit better than other types of rock climbing shoes for morton’s toe, so I am still sticking with it. If I can, however, I’ll try to find the older version next time.
I have precisely the same comments as the previous reviewer, except perhaps moreso. I had great success with the previous version and have three pair that are all in need of resole, sizes 8 and two pair of 8.5. I wear a 9.5 street shoe, so the 8s have always been a little tight, but not uncomfortable. I tried this new shoe in an 8.5 and was in such pain just wearing them that I immediately switched to a 9. I tried wearing the size 9s climbing and was unable to suffer through them for more than a couple minutes at a time. The pain they cause is agonizing. I’m hoping that they’ll loosen up, but I have no recollection of such extreme discomfort with the prior version. My initial review is that this new shoe is now hopelessly broken. I’m tempted to abuse REI’s incredibly gracious return policy (I bought my pair there) by just getting rid of them right now.
I read some reviews on line and they all seemed to indicate that the shoe was true to size as compared to your street shoes. so i bought a 10.5 and my toes are pretty cramped in there. I’ve worn them 4 times and I’m hoping that they will loosen up some as time goes on.
This climbing shoe is amazing, it is pretty comfortable and light.
New climber, needed shoes, these are comfortable and perform better than expected. They seem very durable as well, and the laces are much better than velcro in my opinion.
great climbing shoes… incredibly comfortable even with a tight fit
