These shoes are good for climbing rocks

By Stygimollusk
Excellent shoes for bouldering or sport routes, I’ve just ordered my second pair after getting a full season’s worth of outdoor and gym climbing in on them. The heel pocket is very snug, I’ve never had the dagrons slip off on me while popping a heel hook. Sizing is pretty much consistent with your street shoe size, which I always found a bit odd as other five ten shoes I’ve had I’ve had to size down 1-1.5 sizes from street shoes.

overall great shoe for intermediate and advanced climbers!!

By SB_Ortus
People…. please start writing decent reviews ,focus on what matters and be specific. Writing comments like “great shoes” or “great for climbing rocks” is not helpfuI!!! want to start by saying that these shoes run about 1 full size smaller than your normal shoe size. These are lined fully synthetic material and are not going to stretch much. So if they are extremely painful when you first try them on, they most likely will stay that way! I alway hear people say that climbing shoes should be extremely painful which is not true. They should fit correctly! Being in pain will adversely affect your climbing. Everyone’s foot is different which affects how a shoe fits. My big toe is slightly longer than the others which makes it necessary to size up. This is a high performance shoe and is best suited for intermediate to advanced climbers that require precise toe and heal hooking performance. Sole has really good traction and i agree with one of the other reviewers that it tends to wear quickly. Great shoe shoe for vertical overhanging routes where you need that extra toe pronation. Over all a great shoe!!

Best shoe for step bouldering

By Joshua Han
This is probably my favorite shoe for bouldering. Great rubber, it’s very sticky, no reason to ever slip off a foot. The dragon is more of an advanced shoe, since putting it on will probably cause a lot of pain at first. The lacing system gives it extra security when you need to heel hook but it can be a hassle to take it off and put it on in between climbs. If you are looking for a great bouldering shoe, you can’t go wrong with the dragon.

Great shoes, cheapest I could find them

By Kevlev
These are amazing shoes and I recommend them to anyone who is considering an aggressive shoe. A bit painful, but it’s to be expected

great shoe for women

5-10 rubber is great – very sticky. This shoe is also good if you have a narrow heel. I can heel-hook in these and they don’t slip. The toe box is on the pointy side. This shoe is not for you if you have a wide foot. Like most shoes when new, they might leave your feet red the first few times worn (from the dye), and can be tight at first. Mine felt fine after I broke them in (this took about 10 or so climbs, if memory serves)

Great but be careful with the size

By saracuramuira
I bought this shoes knowing that I had to buy them at least one size bigger from my regular climbing shoes. I bought them and even they were one size bigger they were too tight. I would recommend to buy them at least 1 1/2 size bigger. Even thought great climbing shoes!!!!

Read This First!!!

I never got the opportunity to try out these shoes on the rocks. I wear a size 11.5 in all other shoes and the smallest they had left was a 11.5 so in combination with the aggressive shoe style and laces any slack wouldn’t be a problem. Received the shoe and tried them on with on luck to even get the shoe on my foot. I then sent way for a larger size and got the 12.5 and was still to small. My feet were smashed into the shoe completely unable to move toes and only able to wear the shoes for maybe 5 minutes without having to take them off due to he pain. My piece of wisdom is DO NOT! buy these shoes unless you have tried them on and know exactly what size you need.

Three Stars

Good shoe for rope climbing, not good for bouldering as the downturn wears out quicky.

Size issue.

By T. Coots
This is not my first pair of climbing shoes from five ten. I have a different pair from 2014 that are 12s and these are at least an inch smaller than this, while being a half size BIGGER. I understand that climbing shoes have to be ‘broken in’ but the pain these shoes cause my feet make that impossible.. other than the sizing the shoes look great and I’m sure would perform well on the wall if I could get my feet in them. Order several sizes up, or buy somewhere you can try them on..
