I got this shoe for a sweet deal at a sale as it’s my first pair of rock climbing shoes.
Not impressed – below the level of quality I expected from 5.10.
I bought these at a local retailer and I recommend doing that if you can so you get the right fit. I where about a 10 in street shoes and I got a 9 in these. They have stretched about half a size in the 7-8 months that I have owned them. After the break in period, they fit snug. These were my first pair of climbing shoes and they have done nothing but please me. They are comfortable so I can wear them the whole time I stay at the gym without getting sore feet and they have lasted me over half a year.(the rubber is finally starting to wear down on the toe) The only “con” I have about these shoes is the unlined leather kind of turns my feet blue. It isn’t anything too serious and it usually washes off in the shower. Other than that, these shoes are great and I recommend these to anyone who is looking to get into climbing and wants a cheap, reliable, and comfortable pair of beginner climbing shoes.
These are definitely the most comfortable climbing shoes I’ve ever worn. I actually bought my own shoe size (despite everyone telling me that I should buy shoes 1 – 2 sizes smaller) and I can definitely say that they are amazing. I climb once a week (sometimes twice) and the soles have really held up. The outter edge on both sides has worn down considerably now that I’m climbing more 5.9s and 5.10s which is upsetting. I wish this edge held out longer, but that’s really the only complaint I have.
Don’t get me wrong, it is a great shoe, but it did not work for me because of how my feet are. I need a more symmetrical shoe (my second toe is longer than my big toe on both feet) with more camber than this shoe gives. Other than that, it was a good fit and snug. My normal shoe size is around 9.5, so I got a 10, and it was a pretty good fit otherwise. The velcro straps made it so convenient to put on and take off periodically if my feet needed a rest.
I bought the same size as my sneaker and I’m glad i did. my feet are pleasantly comfortable and if they stretch just a bit I will be able to enjoy wearing them all day without scrunched up toes.
Great beginner shoes. Fit really tight at first but after 3 months of climbing avidly they stretched a full size and are little loose around the toes. Highly recommend these shoes.
Very fantastic shoe! Toe is a little offset but I love that personally!
Great shoes! I haven’t had any problems with them turning my feet blue… Yet.
