When we joined our rock gym nine months ago, I scoured reviews of climbing shoes on several websites. The consensus was that the Mythos are comfortable enough for all-day crag climbing, and still solid performers. The next time at the gym, I paid attention to what people were wearing, and we saw Mythos on many feet. My wife and I both bought these and have no regrets.
I’ve had my mythos for several years now, and although I’m not a super active climber, I do go out regularly. The mythos have held up really well! the leather is starting to peal back just slightly, but that’s to be expected at their age. They’re super comfortable and I’ve used them for everything from bouldering to sport and crack climbs. Overall I think they’re a great shoe. The only downside is that you have to lace them, but that still isn’t all bad, since you can get them to form better to your foot that way
Great pair of climbing shoes, feet are happy with this purchase. After renting climbing shoes at various gyms, I am happy to have my own. Makes climbing more enjoyable with shoes of my own. Fit as expected with good support. Quality materials.
My first pair of climbing shoes. They are comfortable – and since the leather wraps around the back of the heel cup, there’s no blistering (which occurred with another, cheaper pair I ended up returning to REI). I’ve only climbed indoors but hope to test these outside sometime soon…!
This shoe is wonderful, great fit, perfect for a long day of multi pitch climbing. Make sure you buy one size smaller than your normal climbing shoe size they will stretch out a bit. I love them!
I love these shoes because they are very comfortable. I am 56 and my feet are tiered, so I strongly recommend it for people who look for comfort. Theses are not aggressive climbing shoes, but they can handle high tens and low elevens just fine
These are my first climbing shoes. I have worn them for outdoor bouldering and outdoor rope climbing 6-7 times since receiving them a few weeks ago. I bought them a half size smaller than my normal size, I would go down an entire size to an entire size and a half from your normal size at least for first time shoes. I have not fully broken them in and I can definitely see the difference from when I first got them in size, as the other reviews say, they really do stretch. Even so, this shoe is perfect. The lacing and material make them extremely comfortable (after breaking them in some of course). I will be purchasing this same shoe again once it’s time for a new pair, next time I will order 2 sizes down and give those a try. Everything arrived exactly on time and was well packaged.
These were the only pair of rock climbing shoes that I tried on that was snug but still comfortable. I normally wear a size 5.5 shoe, and the size 4 was fine. I tried a different brand of shoe where I had to size up to a 7 for my foot to fit into without feeling cramped, so something was definitely wrong. I like how these shoes are leather and lace. The lace goes around the back of the foot and since it’s leather back there, it does not hurt my foot. The toe part has a nice grip. So glad I got these for my first pair of climbing shoes.
Great so far! They are tight, but not too tight. I was told they are supposed to be and that they stretch with wear. I have only climbed in them once so far and I thought they were good. I could feel the holds really well so felt like my footing was better.
These shoes are painfully snug, just as they should be. I believe that once they’ve had a few weeks to break in, they’ll fit comfortably. I was able to smear and toe step much better in these than I was in my Evolvs.
